Stereotyped for being a hatchback champion, Maruti Suzuki, one of the biggest automobile companies, has launched the much awaited sports sedan, Kizashi, with élan. Kizashi, the company’s first offering for the upper segment, has been manufactured in Japan at Suzuki Motor Corporation’s Sagara plant, by blending in elegant European style with intricate Japanese craftsmanship. In Japanese, Kizashi means “a sign of great things to come”. The car itself reflects gracefulness and dynamism and is bundled with emotional appeal and affordability - a great sign indeed; and if this is company’s first answer to the likes of Skoda and Honda, one can only imagine what punches it has yet to deliver. Read this article to further know about features and specifications of Maruti Kizashi.
Design & Comfort
The Indian version of Kizashi has inherited the sporty and athletic design from the Japanese version of the car. Tailor-made for a driving enthusiast, it boasts of a front end that is broad and bold with big upper grille, headlights and fog lights that reflect strength and style. The architecture at Kizashi’s rear brings out the sporty side of this vehicle. Sophistication is reflected when one looks at the overall design of lean proportion, bold and aggressive posture, aided by 17-inch alloy wheels. The interiors of Kizashi also seem luxurious, spacious, and aesthetically designed when compared to quite a few other cars from the same segment. The visual appeal of the car only seems more heightened due to addition of an integrated dual sports exhaust.
Engine
Kizashi has been equipped with a 2.4L, 4-cylinder 16 valve J24B petrol engine, which seems more powerful that many of its competitors. It’s capable of delivering 185bhp at 6500rpm and a torque output of 170nm at 4000rpm, while providing 12.45 kmpl of fuel efficiency. The aluminum pistons provide for better power and efficiency. This powerful engine also boasts of a DOHC (double overhead camshafts) feature that leads to easy breathing of the mills, hence more power and fuel efficiency.

Safety measures are well looked after in Maruti Kizashi, which comes with both advanced and standard features of 6 airbags (rear front and side), Advanced Electronic stability program with traction system control (TCS), Anti-lock braking system, Vehicle Security System, Brake Assist Function, 3 point emergency locking retractor, daytime running lights, and child seat and brake assist function.
