BEAUTIFUL BUILDINGS IN THE WORLD

The world is filled with beautiful and awe-inspiring building. Nearly every country has a spectacular building that is associated with it. For instance, if a person visualizes the Eiffel Tower, immediately thoughts of Paris and France come to mind. Many of these building are historical structures that were constructed centuries ago when no modern-day construction equipment were available, while some are modern designs that were build to reflect the changing perceptions and attitude in the society. Regardless of how and when they were built, these beautiful creations keep attracting people from all over the world who come to admire the architecture and beauty of these buildings.

This spectacular modern-day building has been criticized by many, as it may appear as though a can opener was used on it. However, it is an extraordinary building with amazing architecture that makes it unique and extremely beautiful.

2. POTALA PALACE IN LHASA, TIBET

Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet
This UNESCO World Heritage Site lies high amidst the mountains and consists of 13 stories and thousands of rooms. The building’s construction began in the 7th century and over 7,000 workers were used to construct it. This massive building is beautiful and awe-inspiring like none other.

3. BIBLIOTHECA ALEXANDRINA, EGYPT

Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Egypt
While Egypt has always been famous for its magnificent pyramids, it is the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, a library, which was constructed in 2002 that makes it to the list of the top 10 beautiful buildings in the world. The library houses over 8 million books besides being a structure of beauty.

4. SAGRADA FAMILIA, SPAIN

The uniquely designed building has awesome architecture and was conceived by Antoni Gaudi. The construction started in 1882, but since Gaudi was a little confused how to go about designing this extremely beautiful church, it still lies incomplete!

5. TAJ MAHAL IN AGRA, INDIA

 Taj Mahal in Agra, India
This testament to love is perhaps the one of the most famous monuments in India. Made by a king, Shahjahan, pining for his dead wife, Mumtazmahal, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is truly an architectural marvel, made from marble.

6. EMAM MOSQUE, IRAN

Emam Mosque, Iran
This mosque is has an extremely beautiful architecture and is covered in pale blue and yellow ceramic tiles that change color based on the lighting. It was constructed in the 17th century.

7. WINTER PALACE, RUSSIA

Winter Palace, Russia
The Palace is located in St. Petersburg, on the banks of Neva River. It was designed as the winter home for the czars of Russia by Francesco Bartolommeo Rastrelli.

8. CRAC DES CHEVALIERS, SYRIA

Crac des Chevaliers, Syria
This castle is more than 800 years old, but still manages to captivate people with its beauty and craftsmanship. It is one of the best examples of traditional art in the country.

9. MUSEU OSCAR NIEMEYER, BRAZIL

This building, referred to as the Eye Museum, is uniquely designed by world famous architect Oscar Niemeyer. It is extremely captivating and compelling to look at.

10. HAGIA SOPHIA IN ISTANBUL, TURKEY

Hagia Sophia in Istanbul, Turkey
This museum started out as a church when it was constructed in the 6th century. It was then transformed to a mosque, and in 1935, it was converted to a museum. Truly, a magnificent piece of architecture!
