Record: Visits 201 different countries free ride on the plane

A British set the record by becoming the first person to visit 201 countries without riding on the plane .

Graham Hughes , 33 , from Liverpool , used buses , taxis , trains and his feet to travel 160,000 miles for 1,426 days , using only 100 dollars a week .

Spent days in the ocean , was jailed for a week in Congo after suspected spy was arrested after secretly tried to get into Russia and was rescued by a Filipino Muslim extremists .

Yesterday he closed his epic journey of four years in Juba , capital of South Sudan , a country that did not exist when he started the journey on New Year's Day 2009 .

It has passed through the borders of 193 UN countries plus Taiwan , Vatican , Palestine , Kosovo , and Western Sahara .
